Pacific Theatre was dominated by waterborne warfare, but most significant theatre for Canada was the Atlantic.
King preferred Air Force and Navy participation to the army.
The Growth of the RCAF & RCN
High casualties & deaths would threaten Canadian unity
Air Force and Navy were more attractive to volunteers
1940, Canada sent all four of its destroyers to Britain
At the start of the war, Canada had only 1,819 sailors & 13 ships.
